Recipes and decorating ideas for fall !
Perhaps for a fall wedding, the Grooms Table has the flavor of the season with a pumpkin cake, Orange Iced cupcakes topped with real acorns and tiny candy pumpkins. Cold apple cider served in a crock is the perfect accompiniment. Candy apples with long twigs for holding bring a smile to both young and old.

Above, the antique farm table is draped with an antique paisley shawl used as a tablecloth and is in keeping with the color of the season. Pumpkins and cornstalks are scattered around the property.

I like the blanket of fiery red and orange leaves that fall across the lawn. We have a bonfire ready for lighting, and a hay wagon that can serve as your buffet table. Roasting marshmallows, or warming s'mores for a fall party is perfect for guests of all ages.
Here, pumpkins and lanterns dress the altar in fall colors. The sunlight in mid-October through November turns amber and the days shorten. During these days, check the Farmers Almanac to see what time sundown is on any chosen day. A ceremony planned 30 minutes before sundown give photographers enough time for pictures after the ceremony.  The tones of the setting sun cast a golden glow over the evening.
Our hay wagon may double as a stage for a live band. The music of fall offers a familiarity and gets guests spinning almost immediately. The lively dancing near the bonfire breaks down barriers, bringing people closer together allowing the guests and family members to abandon worries and just have fun.
A wedding cake may be dressed in the colors of fall. For a "grooms cake" a Praline Pecan Pie will be a delicious fall offering. For favors, offer brown penny sacks with toasted pumpkin seeds.  Pies and tarts seem to be quite popular for non traditional reception foods.

Fall is perhaps the prettiest season of all at Magnolia Hill. September begins the transformation of color around the lake. October brings forth a palette of autumnal color while "peak" color is  usually the first week of November.
" Delicious Autumn !
My very soul is wedded to it, and if I were a bird I would fly about the earth seeking the successive autumns."

The glorious colors of the season at Magnolia Hill remind us that these outdoor days are precious indeed.
COLORS OF FALL
One of the greatest joys of living in Arkansas is the breathtaking transformation in nature that can be experienced most dramatically in autumn.
